about

All proceeds will support those who would not be able to attend our retreats without your generous contributions. Please feel free to pay more than the $20 album fee. (We receive about $16 for each album sold due to fees - so it goes - all good!)

We offer these recordings as a way to bring you back into the sacred space you have shared with us, and to remind you that you are loved and cared for by our circle.
We pray these recordings remind you of your time with us and that they help with the integration of your deep work.

Our community believes that we can dream possibilities into existence through medicina, prayer, and song. We welcome your continued presence in this community’s healing grace. Ahhhh! Yay, us…

Recorded and produced by Adam Shaening-Pokrasso - this offering is only available because of your work brother. Gracias, again!!!

All this music was sung and played by the Gila Family. Every tune, tone, and tap is from our hearts.

Most of these icaros have been passed down from our teachers and here is what we know of their origins:

El Tomapende: Vicki learned from Don Jose
Aya Mama Taki: (Plantas Medicinales) from William Llerena Muyayari.
Desde mi Pampa: Christina Mendoza (an opera singer in the 40's) sang this to Peruvian children in her ceremonies. Our friend N sat with Christina when she was 10 years old and shared this song with us.
Mariri: learned from Christina
Ewawa: (Canto del Otorongo Joven) from Don Evangelino Murayay
Mariposa Estrellada: from Charity Masters
Masa: (Mazatl) from Kuhati Vasques
Huarmi Challay: version of Remolino from Christina
Ni Nina Ne: (Icaro de Candela) from Luis Panduro Vasquez
Seven Directions: from Lisa Grayshield
Ikarunchi: taught to Vicki from Michael F, perhaps via Sacred Valley Tribe, from Diego Palma
En El Cielo: from Nessi Gomes
Flor Si Ti: learned from Pachico/Elvis - an old Peruvian mainstream song
Movin' Along: from John Seagar
Our Love: (Pacha Mama) from Chances R Good
Giving Praise: learned from Wes - it has evolved into a free circle song

So much beauty - we are all very blessed.
...yes! And we continue to learn!
